Bobby Ray Nelson

	Bobby Ray Nelson, 54, died June 10, 2001 at his home.
	Born June 15, 1946 in Lilbourn, son of the late R. V. and Minnie Mae Gould Nelson, he was a heavy equipment operator in coal mines for the Illini Energy Resource of Murphysboro.  He was a member of the United Mine Workers and Operating Engineers.
	His first wife, Kay Morgan Nelson, preceded him in death on July 22, 1998.
	 On September 1, 2000, he married Brenda Maxwell at Paducah, Ky. and she survives of the home.
	Other survivors include two sons, Mark Nelson of Elkville and David Nelson of Christopher; two daughters, Carol Nelson and Cindy Nelson of DuQuoin; one step-son, Dustin Hanner of Farrenburg; one step-daughter, Brandy Williams of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Richard Hanner of Owensboro, Ky. and Roger Hanner of Scott City and five grandchildren, Josh Nelson and Brittney Nelson of Christopher, Zachary Nelson and Ethan Nelson of Elkville and Morgan Nelson of DuQuoin.
	One grandson also preceded him in death.
	Friends called after 6 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday.
	The Rev. Harold Gass, former pastor of the Brethren Church of Farrenburg officiated.
	 Burial followed in the Matthew City Cemetery.
